Heard on the Street: Quantitative Questions from Wall Street Job Interviews

Timothy Falcon Crack

This is probably the book you want to own a copy of and tell very few people about its existence; the book which all employers want to have and you not to! Heard on the Street is full of the most popular question that have been asked at interviews for quantitative jobs in finance at the top investment banks over the past several years. Many of these questions you will be asked at interviews for ‘quant’ type jobs or trading of derivative products. Several of the exact same questions have come up at a few interviews friends have had recently, and many of which have been circulated by various source before. Perhaps they all have a copy too? The author provides complete solutions to all the problems which have been refined over several editions to give alternative approaches. The final chapter, though not the main focus of this book, provides several non-quantitative questions which you should be prepared to answer at interviews with a little thought beforehand.

For C/C++ lovers (quant developers), there are only a very few exercises to make this book worthwhile - the author focuses more on quantitative, logical, statistical, and derivatives questions. Be prepared to do some maths!

You can sample some of the questions found in this book in our brainteasers and interactive derivatives quiz.
