Stocks, Bonds, Options, Futures

Stuart R. Veale

As an experienced capital markets instructor, Stuart Veale has managed to culminate his years' of teaching experience into writing this excellent introductory book to stocks, bonds, options and futures. This book, in more depth and breadth than the Wall Street Journal Guide to Understanding Money and Investing, brought readers to the attention of financial instruments not just limited to stocks, but also bonds, options and futures.

Details of how the securities industry operate aside, a wide range of financial instruments are also described in this book, e.g. what are common and preferred, various contracts (forward, futures, swap, options), options, and bonds. Where applicable, simple examples (basic arithmetic maths) are presented to help reader understand the valuation of these instruments. Published by the New York Institute of Finance, this book is fairly geared towards the U.S. securities. Recommended for those wanting to understand various aspects of the US markets.
