Econophysics

Rosario N. Mantegna & H. Eugene Stanley
Cambridge University Press

The authors are the first to write a book on the new, up and coming field of econophysics. It is more like a collection of the most significant papers published in the field reformatted to make a book. To be fair, the nature of the subject makes it difficult for the book to be written in any other style. Undergraduates will benefit most from this book as it is the quickest way to gain an overall view of past work done in the field.

For the price of £20/25 (paperback/hardback) for such a 'thin' book, as some would say, it is by no means value for money. However, it is the only book written so far on the topic, so it might be the only option for those wishing learn about econophysics without going through years of research papers.
