Mathematics for Finance: An Introduction to Financial Engineering

Marek Capinski and Tomasz Zastawniak

Springer

The style this book has been written in is very unique. It is difficult to tell who will benefit the most from this book. For a mathematician it is not sufficiently rigorous, and for the practitioner there is a lack of finance. Perhaps a person with the sound understanding of the mathematical finance, but would like to step up the level of mathematical involvement a touch, can benefit from this book in making this transition. Not the best book to start learning about the fundamentals from (not because the topics are too advanced) like the `Hull’ book. The unique style may help explain certain concepts in a different light.
